Dr.Surekha Bhat is presently the Associate Professor in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, AIMST university, Malaysia. She has taught Chemistry and Biology to premedical students and is currently teaching Biochemistry to MBBS students in her institute. She graduated with a B.Sc (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry) from Mahatma

in 1992 and secured the fifth rank in the university. Thereafter, she did her postgraduation in Biochemistry at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and obtained her M.Sc degree from Manipal University, Manipal, in 1995.
Her interest in pyramids made her pursue scientific research studies on pyramids modeled after the Great Pyramid of Giza. In June 2005, MAHE awarded her a Ph.D for her thesis entitled “Alterations in the status of oxidative stress and antioxidant profile in rats housed in pyramid model”

Dr.Bhat was awarded the Dr.TMA Pai Gold medal for excellence in medical research by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, in the year 2005 for her paper ‘Effect of housing rats within a pyramid on stress parameters’.
She was a part of the following pyramid related research studies along with Prof.Satyanarayana, Principal, Muniyal Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences, Manipal:
“Effects of pyramid therapy on body weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and serum alkaline phosphatase in women with infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast” an armchair research project by post graduate students of Medical Laboratory technology, Manipal college of allied health sciences, Manipal
Conducting studies on effect of pyramid therapy on the parameters of glycemic control and lipid profile in diabetic patients
Conducting studies on effect of pyramid therapy on the stress levels of patients with anxiety neurosis
Dr.Bhat has presented a paper entitled “Management of stress in chronic diseases the pyramid way” at the 4th Indo Australian Conference in Biotechnology held in June, 2007 at Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Brisbane, Australia and a paper entitled “Use of miniature replicas of the Great pyramid of Egypt in therapy” at the National conference on healthcare communication and marketing organized by Centre for Media and Marketing Communication Research held in November 2008 in Manipal, India
She was interviewed live on Bangalore Doordarshan (Chandana TV) to create awareness among the rural population of Karnataka, India, about the importance of pyramids, in the programme “Hello geleyare” in November 2008
